With Google, Yahoo, and MSN getting so much attention all of the time, we often forget that there are other fine search engines out there.
Take Azoos for example. If you submit your site to them, they will have it indexed within 24 hours. It will be listed under the category you select just minutes after you submit it.
That is a pretty quick way to get some traffic. Not too many search engines will index, spider, and add user submitted sites to their databases that fast.
Most search engines are pretty hazy about letting you know what it takes to make sure that your site gets included in their database. Some even tell you that it will take a long time if it even gets in at all.
Just don't forget that there are always alternatives to the big 3 search engines.
